SUMMARY
Downtown Oak Park, a vibrant, progressive community neighboring Chicago, is seeking a full-time Digital Marketing & Communications Manager to join our small team! Be an integral team member in a small not-for-profit office and have the opportunity to learn new skills every day. The position will work under the Marketing and Communications Director and be responsible for all digital marketing within the organization including social media platforms, eblasts and website maintenance. This position will also expose you to event planning, sustainability initiatives, community outreach and small business development.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Digital Marketing and Communication Responsibilities:
- Update & create content on website
- Promote events digitally
- Create e-blasts using Constant Contact
- Prepare press releases
- Create content for regular social media posts
- Utilize social media advertising
- Report analytics
- Coordinate community outreach efforts
- Support merchant promotional efforts
- Assist with creating marketing pieces & promotional campaigns as needed
General Marketing and Event Assistance:
- Distribute marketing materials throughout the district and community
- Prepare and order supplies leading up to events
- Manage and mail online event tickets sales
- Work all signature events
- Assist with event set up, sales, take down etc.
- Coordinate non-profit organization participation at events
- Oversee staff & volunteers at events
Office Responsibilities:
- Order supplies and organize office
- Answer phones, greet and assist merchants & visitors
- Prepare for all meetings, including annual, quarterly, committee meetings
- Take minutes at Merchant Advisory Committee and Board of Director meetings
- Maintain business directories and contact databases
- Create new member and board member informational packets
- Maintain photo library
QUALITICATIONS
- Excellent written & verbal communications skills
- Must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends including our signature events
- Detail-oriented & highly organized
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
- Proficient with Microsoft office, social media platforms, email marketing
- Design or photography skills preferred
- Experience with Word Press & Constant Contact preferred
- Ability to lift & carry items weighing 20 pounds or less
- Two years’ experience in marketing, communications or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, writing skills and abilities.

Pay: $40,000
