DAY ONE
Opening Night September 12 at the Lake Theater
This red carpet event will feature a pre- film discussion, screening of “The Abyss Special Edition” starring Oak Park native, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio.
“The Abyss is James Cameron’s first feature about the sea. and won the Oscar for Special Effects and was nominated for Best Cinematography. It is very visual, and it will be a real treat to see it on the big screen. The Special Edition restores some crucial scenes cut for the 1989 release,” explained Festival Founder and President Joyce Porter.
DAY TWO
Film Festival September 14 at the Madison Street Theater
A full day of independent films all with an Oak Park connection, continental breakfast, industry panels, and a closing awards ceremony.
